We're Hiring: Nutrition Educator
Summary of Nutrition Educator Position:
Builds and activates personal relationships with health and wellness partners throughout a territory within central/southern Illinois. Develops, delivers and evaluates programs to promote dairy’s contributions to health in a variety of settings. Serves as spokesperson for local dairy industry with the media and community organizations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Educate consumers on the role of dairy foods in health and wellness, with a focus on K-12 schools.
 - Develop and maintain positive relationships with identified partners to drive engagement in local initiatives.
 - Provide science-based nutrition information and resources to build support for dairy foods and dairy farmers.
 - Proactively secure partnerships on local/state level to strategically advance the organization’s mission of dairy promotion.
 - Attend and present at a variety of events, including conferences, workshops, and tours; both in-person and virtual formats.
 - Work collaboratively in small team environment.
 - Track territory activities via internal and external reporting systems.
 - Prioritize, make decisions and schedule duties independently to meet goals without direct supervision.
 
Qualifications:
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
 - Excellent interpersonal skills and innate desire to work with people
 - Ability to build and advance relationships to grow support for dairy and the dairy industry
 - Willingness to learn, share ideas and innovate in a team environment
 - Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
 - Must enjoy dairy products
 - This full-time opportunity involves regular travel throughout an assigned territory in Illinois with occasional weekend events. Position is based in headquarters office in Kirkwood, MO. It is not a remote position.
 
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Food & Nutrition/Dietetics required.
 - Certification as Registered Dietitian Nutritionist is required.
 - Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in nutrition communications, nutrition education, or health promotion.
 - Proven track record of the ability to foster productive relationships is required.
 
School nutrition management experience/knowledge desired. Experience conducting broadcast media interviews a plus. Knowledge of the agriculture industry a plus. Submit cover letter and resume to info@stldairycouncil.org No phone calls please.
