Ellen Wheeler

Ellen Wheeler is the Executive Director of the St. Louis District Dairy Council. She is committed to directing dairy promotion efforts aimed at health professionals, educators, schools, and consumers.

Ellen started at SLDDC as a Nutrition Educator, serving 26 counties in Missouri. Before rising to Executive Director, she served as the Program Coordinator, a role in which she was dedicated to overseeing and coordinating program initiatives that promote dairy throughout SLDDC's service territory. 

Prior to working for the Dairy Council, Ellen was the Program Manager for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Missouri, where she covered children's programs and community outreach throughout the state. Earlier in her career, she served as a Women, Infants, and Children (W.I.C.) Program Manager in Johnson County, Kansas. Ellen also has experience with the St. Louis County WIC program and the American Cancer Society.

Ellen graduated with a degree in Dietetics & Nutrition from Missouri State University and obtained a Masters in Public Health from St. Louis University.

As a mother to three boys, she always has plenty of milk in the refrigerator!
